Rayon or cotton covered electric cord has been getting more popular in the past few years. People are using it to restore old lamps, vintage fans, or make antique looking pendants or swag lamps. It’s available in many cool fun different colors that were never available in the past. At NostalgicBulbs.com we carry both cotton and rayon covered cord in red, blue, denim, purple, brown, black, gold and many more cool colors. We are also constantly adding more colors in both rayon and cotton. You can also choose between the twisted, parallel, or the regular round style, the different gauge sizes and the number of conductors. I personally love the red twisted wire. It really sticks out in whatever you use it in. It really makes a difference when you make or restore a lamp, a pendant or a vintage fan. Our idea is to give you all the material you need to create your own lamp. It’s easy to do and fun. We are also adding some readymade lamps and pendants using the Antique look of the cloth covered cord with vintage looking sockets and plugs. Please let us know if you have any suggestions or requests. We could also put it all together for you if you not into connecting wires, plugs and sockets. Choose from our selection of the cloth covered wire, our plugs, and our sockets. Tell us how long you would like the wire to be and what style of cord. Email us at email@example.com.
We carry Antique Light Bulbs that are 120-240Volt. From 30W to 60W Edison Marconi that could be used in Europe and all other countries which use 240 Volt. View our 240 Volt Bulb selection.
Today we added a new Spiral Nostalgic Bulb that is also 120-240V. It is clear glass 60 Watts A-19 shape which is the standard shape of the incandescent bulb.
I have been getting some questions about the base size of those bulbs since in the US we use E26 and Europe uses E27. E26 stands for 26mm and the E27 for 27 mm in diameter. Those two standards are interchangeable, meaning a US E26 will fit a European E27 base, and E27 will fit in an E26 Base. The only difference is the voltage.
Welcome to nostalgicbulbs.com blog. We will keep you posted on any news, new products and the day to day activities of our new business. One of the first topics I will talk about is the phase out of the incandescent bulbs. I believe the 100 watt incandescent is already phased out and by 2014 all those bulbs will be out. The big question is whether or not our vintage reproduction bulbs will be phased out as well. I have heard a few stories about this subject. Some people say that those Antique reproduction bulbs will not be phased out since the fall under specialty bulbs and some say they will. Does anyone have any thoughts on this!
